Fantastic Gift Basket Drawing--Celebrating a New Release

Elaine Marie Cooper, Author of "The Promise of Deer Run"
Elaine is giving away a fantastic gift basket to celebrate the release of her new book, The Promise of Deer Run (available in paperback, hardcover or ebook).

Here are the rules: Leave a comment about the giveaway and let me know what your favorite item in the basket is to receive one entry. Subscribe to my blog or let me know you're already a subscriber, and you'll get TWO additional entries. You must tell me you're a subscriber to get the extra entries.

I'll draw my winner on Nov 18th, and give it to the blog hostess heading up the blog tour. A grand prize winner will then be drawn from the winners from each blog taking part and will be posted/notified on Nov 21. Be SURE you leave a way for us to contact you. Write your email out like this: miralee at yahoo dot com, etc.

Grand Prize (Retail Value: $297.38) Contains:
  • Basket
  • $25 Starbucks gift card
  • Spode Christmas teapot
  • Spode Christmas mugs
  • Yankee candle
  • Hardbound copy The Road to Deer Run
  • Hardbound copy The Promise of Deer Run
  • Bath and Body Paris Amour scent
  • An Absolutely Charming Tale!
Once again, Elaine Marie Cooper pens an absolutely charming tale of eighteenth century Americana. War, no matter the era, takes its toll on both soldiers and families. The Promise of Deer Run is a precious next story following Mary and Daniel’s story in The Road to Deer Run, picking up with Mary’s sister, Sarah a few years down the line. Be sure to read the first book too! As a historian and author, I am grateful to Elaine for her dedication to authenticity.  —Lisa Lickel,  author of A Summer in Oakville

About The Promise of Deer Run:
America’s war for freedom from England has been over for seven years, but the wounds of that conflict still haunt the minds and hearts of the residents of Deer Run. Young American veteran Nathaniel Stearns has withdrawn to a life of isolation as he awaits his father who never returned from the war.

A near-tragedy in the woods brings Nathaniel face-to-face with nineteen-year-old Sarah Thomsen, someone he had long admired but he assumed had eyes for another. This chance encounter opens a crack into the door of his heart as mutual affection quickly blooms.

But slander and lies soon mar the budding romance, rendering both Sarah and Nathaniel wounded and untrusting as their faith in both their God and each other is shattered. Set in 1790, this book continues the story of the Thomsen and Lowe families as they struggle to survive in the aftermath of the war that birthed the United States.
  •
  • The Road to Deer Run won the following honors:
    • Finalist: 2011 Next Generation Indie Book Awards
    • Honorable Mention: 2011 Los Angeles Book Festival
    1. Best Romantic Moment: ClashoftheTitles.com, February 2011

I was given a complimentary copy of the book to read for a future review, but the publisher or author did not pay me to take part in this tour.

What a wonderful giveaway this is. I would have to say that my favorite from the gift basket would be the $25 gift card to Starbucks.

Blessings,

Wow, this is an awesome gift basket. I thought a Spode teapot would be the best thing, but I'd only probably look at it. Maybe. The Spode cups I think are my favorite thing in the basket. Then I can fix a cup of tea and sit down a read.
I follow this blog.
Thanks for sharing about the book and the contest.

Everything in the gift basket sounds great, but if I have to choose one thing that really appeals to me it would be the Yankee candle. I love candles, and know from experience Yankee candles are top of the line.

Elaine, your stories sound most interesting. I love historical fiction.

What a phenomenal giveaway - so very generous! I would have to say, without even a second thought, that my favorite item would be the books. I would take a book over anything else at any time because books allow you to travel to a time and/or a place you may never have the opportunity to see or experience.

Thanks for the chance to win this wonderful giveaway! (I am already a follower.)

Good Morning, everyone! I apologize for my late arrival to this post! I am so happy you love the gift basket. As Julie Andrews would sing, "These are a few of MY favorite things," so I hoped they would be readers' favorites as well! I hope you are able to read and (hopefully) enjoy my historical fiction books. They are dear to my heart and my research will hopefully assist you in feeling like you are in the 18th century. Blessings and thanks for visiting!

Wow! I'd love to win the basket. I love teapots and cups to match, so that would be my favorite part of the basket.

I had a hard time finding where to sign up for your blog, but I finally did, Miralee. On my blog, I moved the sign-up gadget to the very top of my sidebar, so people could find it right away.

Wow, what a hard question to answer.
I suppose it would be the gift certificate since I only get to choose one item and then that way I could buy both books in this series with it. I just LOVE series books and here is a good start into this one.
I already subscribe to your newsletter.

Oh, the two hardback books would be what I would like to win most in that gift basket. I've seen those books and the author around the blogging world a lot and have been wanting to read her books someday. So, yeah, those two books would make winning the gift basket SO worth it! :-)

Thanks for putting this on, Miralee. Too cool!!

Congratulations to Deb, at Debsdesk for winning a copy of Dear Run... a number of blogs took part in the large gift basket drawing, so no one from my blog won it, but Deb is getting a copy of the book. And what's cool is she said her favorite thing in the basket was the books.

Thank you to everyone for taking part. I'll be hosting another author book giveaway in the next wk or so, but in the meantime, don't forget to check out the AMAZING raffle I blogged about yesterday!
